Congratulations on Your Nudity EP – Willamette Week

Headlining this night of Portland – area pop bands is Harvester, celebrating its new release.  Crunchy guitar jangles and endearingly gruff vocals highlight Harvester’s brand-new six-song EP Congratulations on Your Nudity.  At times, especially on the song “Oil Slick”, I hear elements of the Wedding Present, while at other moments Harvester is in the midst of creating and sitting in its own pile of messy but comforting and pleasant confusion.  The band even pulls out a cover of Buddy Holly’s “Everyday” that sounds caught between the Jam and B-52s.  Song for song, Congratulations wins approval on the basis of good, old-fashioned likeability.
